The organization builds digital infrastructure to make health data ready for research, advancing evidence-based and personalized medicine. Data4Life develops secure, standards-compliant solutions including D4L Collect for sensor data collection and Data2Evidence for health data management. Their platform supports international standards such as FHIR and OMOP, enabling seamless integration of clinical data with cutting-edge research. Our journey began in 2013 when founder Marc Aurel Engels visited his grandfather in a Stuttgart care facility and noticed how engaged he became with family photos on a tablet, despite his dementia. That moment sparked a mission: to create a tablet-based assistance system that would help people with dementia reconnect with memories, stay mentally active, and maintain social connections.
